Bayview Water & Sewer Meeting

This from Sheryl Puckett:

"Tuesday, October 18th, at 3:30 p.m. Bayview Water & Sewer is holding their monthly meeting at their office in the mobile home behind the fire station. If you're concerned please attend this meeting and come with questions.
Starting January 2012 the water bill will reflect the rate increase. Sewer charge will go from $20.00 to $26.00 and basic rate will jump from $11.00 to $21.00 each month."

It is unfortunate that the monthly meeting will fall during normal working hours precluding attendance by those in the community that are concerned with the rate hike. If the board really desires community involvement, an evening meeting would be more appropriate, as all other community organizations do.

My thoughts exactly about the meeting time. Would be nice if there was a more appropriate time for all of the residents in Bayview.

Wanna earn 600 dollars a year?
The Bayview Water & Sewer board members get fifty dollars for every monthly meeting they attend (12x 50)
So when they held the meeting to vote on our rate increase, the meeting no one came to, it cost the members 200 dollars. Somethings wrong,if you ask me.

I am wondering myself. I am trying to be impartial but after the Chamber meeting am having difficulty not wondering just what is going on at Bayview Water and Sewer?

How many folks are going to be at the meeting?

The less the better....so decisions can be made without opposition. Lets see if any of the marinas raise the float home rent 30% and see what the floathome owners will say??? Gouging. It is time for a regime change.

As far as I am concerned the more the better, get involved with the decision making process but I do believe that the decision has already been made and there is no choice in the matter.

Rose,
There is always a recall or petition. Perhaps the decision has been made but if you attend the meeting tomorrow you can ask for changes, ie: that notification of meetings, especially pertaining to rate increases are made public in Bayview and not just hidden in the CDA Press in the legal notices in font 2,

How does the Water and Sewer board commissioners get elected - vetted by the existing commissioners. This is so there is no opposition or rather check and balance. I think we need to review the election process and the existing board members should not have any say or input on who is elected. This will assure a difference of opinion exist on the board for check and balance. I think 100% recall of all commissioners will allow the Gov to elect a fill in until a new board is elected. Chuck Whaler needs to go. He undermines the Water district, the community center and the chamber of commerce. He tried to undermine the Timber Lake fire district and was tossed out. We need to toss him out - now.
